# Product Description

Our Cisco CFP2-100G-ER4 compatible analogue transceiver is based on our product 100G-CFP2-40, which has the same specifications and is manufactured in accordance with the same industry standards. The Cisco CFP 100G ER4 compatible module is intended for use with Double Fiber Single-Mode Fiber (SMF) optical cable. Our compatible Cisco 100G CFP2 ER4 40km module has a minimum guaranteed optical budget of 18 dB, which is usually enough to reach up to 40 km distance as per CFP2 MSA specification. However, distance is only an indicative parameter calculated for identification comfort. Finally, we calculate distance while keeping in mind the minimum optical budget and the average attenuation of optical cabling in industry. Our Cisco CFP 100G ER4 Compatible module version uses a high-quality EML Laser transmitter with a nominal wavelength of 1310 nm and a 1310 nm PIN Photodiode receiver. 100G CFP2 ER4 40km compatible module supports also DDM/DOM optical diagnostics, which provides diagnostic information about the current operating conditions. For the Cisco CFP 100G ER4 digital diagnostics functions are available via a 2-wire serial interface, as specified in SFF-8472.
