Our EDGEOPTIC 16GFC-SFP-100I is a multi-vendor compatible industrial-grade 16G Fiber Channel SWL (Short Wavelength) SFP+ dual-fiber optical module designed for high-performance storage area network applications in harsh environmental conditions. The 16GFC-SFP-100I module operates at 850nm wavelength for both transmission and reception, with multi-rate data support from 4.25 to 14.025 Gbps enabling compatibility with 4G, 8G, 10G, and 16G Fiber Channel protocols. Our industrial 16G FC-SWL SFP+ transceiver utilizes VCSEL (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) technology for transmission and PIN photodiode for receiving. The transceiver ensures a 3.5 dB guaranteed optical link budget, providing enhanced margin for reliable operation in challenging environments. Over OM3 multimode fiber, the transceiver can reach distances up to 70 meters, while OM4/OM5 cabling extends reach to the full 100 meters specification. However, distance is just an indicative parameter calculated for comfort of identification – eventually we calculate distance taking into account minimal optical budget and average attenuation of optical cabling in industry.

16GFC-SFP-100I compatible industrial 16G FC-SWL module is hot-pluggable SFP+ with duplex LC/UPC connectors as an optical interface. The electrical interface conforms to SFF-8431 MSA (Multi-Source Agreement) specifications, ensuring compatibility with standard SFP+ host systems supporting multiple vendor equipment platforms. Our industrial 16G FC-SWL SFP+ transceiver can be encoded to be compatible and successfully operate in different 80+ brands of storage and networking equipment. The module incorporates DDM/DOM (Digital Diagnostic Monitoring) functionality providing real-time information including transmitted and received optical power levels, module temperature, bias current, and supply voltage. This diagnostic data is available via MSA-compatible EEPROM interface and enables proactive monitoring of transceiver operational parameters. The module operates within an extended industrial temperature range of -45°C to +85°C, engineered with ruggedized components for sustained operation in extreme temperature environments beyond typical data center conditions.

Standards compliance includes Fibre Channel 16GFC Physical Interface specifications (FC-PI-5 Rev 6.00) ensuring full protocol compatibility across 4G, 8G, 10G, and 16G Fiber Channel speeds. The transceiver achieves multi-vendor interoperability through adherence to industry MSA standards, though equipment with vendor-specific module validation may require custom EEPROM programming for compatibility. Our industrial 16G FC SFP+ transceiver is CE/RoHS certified and compliant with Class 1 FDA and IEC60825-1 laser safety standards, with additional hardening for industrial deployment scenarios.
