Allied Telesis compatible AT-QSFPLR4 Description
EdgeOptic's AT-QSFPLR4 compatible is an Allied Telesis-coded version of the EdgeOptic 40GBASE-LR4 QSFP+ multi-vendor transceiver. It runs 40 Gigabit Ethernet over single-mode fiber to 10 km using four CWDM lanes at 1271, 1291, 1311 and 1331 nm, multiplexed onto a single duplex LC pair. The module is built to IEEE 802.3ba Clause 87 and the QSFP+ MSA (SFF-8436, INF-8438i).
Each lane uses a DFB laser transmitting between −6 and +3 dBm, with a PIN photodiode receiver rated to −12.6 dBm sensitivity and a +3 dBm overload point. That gives a 6.6 dB link budget across the 10 km span. The optics carry NRZ-modulated traffic at up to 44.8 Gbps aggregate and operate across the 0 to 70 °C commercial range. Digital diagnostics monitoring reports temperature, supply voltage, laser bias, and per-lane optical power over the I2C interface.
The AT-QSFPLR4 is a data-uplink optic for Allied Telesis SwitchBlade and x-Series campus switching. EdgeOptic codes the EEPROM for Allied Telesis recognition so the module reports correctly in the switch transceiver table. Verify the part against the Allied Telesis transceiver compatibility table for your specific platform before deployment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the AT-QSFPLR4 compatible work in a standard Allied Telesis QSFP+ data port?
Yes. The AT-QSFPLR4 is a 40G data-uplink optic and the compatible module reports correctly in standard Allied Telesis QSFP+ uplink ports. Allied Telesis does restrict non-ATI modules in its dedicated stacking ports, but those stacking ports use SFP and SFP+ optics, not QSFP+. That restriction does not apply to QSFP+ data ports, so a third-party QSFP+ uplink optic is not affected by it.
