EdgeOptic's AT-SP10BD80/I-14 compatible is an Allied Telesis-coded version of the EdgeOptic BIDI-10G-SFP-80A multi-vendor 10G BiDi SFP+ transceiver. It carries Allied Telesis-recognized EEPROM so it presents itself as an AT-SP10BD80/I-14 to Allied Telesis networking equipment with SFP+ uplink ports, and it matches the original optical specification for transmit wavelength, receive wavelength, link budget, and reach.
This is a single-fiber bidirectional module. It transmits at 1490 nm and receives at 1550 nm over one strand of single-mode fiber, reaching 80 km. The transmit side uses an EML laser with output power of 0 to +5 dBm; the receive side uses an APD photodiode rated to −23 dBm sensitivity and −7 dBm overload. Average link budget is 23 dB and the module tolerates up to 1600 ps/nm of chromatic dispersion, which is what carries the signal across the full 80 km span. The connector is a single LC/UPC and digital diagnostics (DOM) are supported. As an 80 km single-fiber BiDi part, reach is governed by the SFP+ MSA and SFF-8431, not by an IEEE 802.3 clause.
Because it is a BiDi module, it works as a complementary pair. The AT-SP10BD80/I-14 at Tx1490/Rx1550 needs a Tx1550/Rx1490 module at the far end of the same fiber. The matching EdgeOptic part is the BIDI-10G-SFP-80B root product. Verify both ends are the opposite wavelength direction during commissioning, otherwise the link will not come up.
The module runs at line rates from 1.25 to 11.32 Gbps. It supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10.31 Gbps), Gigabit Ethernet (1.25 Gbps), 1G/2G/4G/8G/10G Fibre Channel, and STM-64 (9.95 Gbps). It runs on a single +3.3V supply. Compliance covers the SFP+ MSA (SFF-8431), CE, RoHS, and Class 1 laser safety per FDA and IEC 60825-1.
This EdgeOptic compatible is coded to the standard 0 to 70°C temperature range. The Allied Telesis AT-SP10BD80/I series carries the /I industrial-temperature designation rated for −40 to +85°C, which this compatible does not replicate.
