Allied Telesis compatible AT-SP10T Description

EdgeOptic's Allied Telesis AT-SP10T compatible is an Allied Telesis-coded 10GBASE-T copper SFP+ transceiver for AlliedWare Plus switches with SFP+ ports. EdgeOptic programs the module EEPROM to match the Allied Telesis AT-SP10T vendor profile so the transceiver is accepted by AlliedWare Plus (AWP) inventory on platforms that reference the AT-SP10T SKU. The part provides ongoing supply for installed AT-SP10T infrastructure after Allied Telesis declared the OEM module End of Sale.

Allied Telesis declared the AT-SP10T End of Sale on 21 March 2021, with End of Life on 21 March 2023. Allied Telesis recommends the AT-SP10TM as the successor for new deployments. For procurement on green-field builds or refreshes, the AT-SP10TM compatible is the correct page. The AT-SP10T page exists to support replacement and spare-part procurement for installations already standardised on the AT-SP10T SKU, where matching the existing part number across the fleet is the operational requirement.

The transceiver operates per IEEE 802.3an for 10GBASE-T with multi-rate support for 1000BASE-T and 100BASE-T on compatible host ports. Reach is up to 20 m at 10G on Cat6a or Cat7 copper, per the Allied Telesis AT-SP10T datasheet. This is the key optical-spec difference against the AT-SP10TM successor, which extends reach to 30 m at 10G and 100 m at 5G, 2.5G and 1G. Buyers planning runs beyond 20 m should size against AT-SP10TM. Electrical and management interfaces follow SFF-8431 and SFF-8432. Operating temperature covers 0 to 65 °C commercial grade with CE and RoHS certification.

Platform support per the Allied Telesis AT-SP10T hardware release note covers AT-x510, AT-x510DP, AT-x510L, AT-x530, AT-x530DP, AT-x530L, AT-x550, AT-x930, AT-x950, XS900MX, GS980MX, SBx8100 and SBx908 Gen2 chassis running AlliedWare Plus firmware. AT-x240, CentreCOM GS970EMX/52, CentreCOM SE240 and SwitchBlade SBX81GC40 are not on the AT-SP10T supported list; those platforms are covered by the AT-SP10TM successor. Because this is a copper module, DOM telemetry is scoped to the fields that apply to a non-optical SFP+: case temperature, supply voltage, and link status. Transmit optical power, receive optical power and laser bias current do not exist on this part and are not reported. Copper 10GBASE-T modules draw more power than a fibre SFP+ and require a high-power SFP+ cage, which the AWP platforms above provide on their SFP+ ports.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the AT-SP10T still available from Allied Telesis?

No. Allied Telesis declared the AT-SP10T End of Sale on 21 March 2021 and End of Life on 21 March 2023. Allied Telesis recommends the AT-SP10TM as the successor for new deployments. EdgeOptic's AT-SP10T compatible continues to provide supply for existing AT-SP10T-standardised infrastructure, where matching the operational part number across the fleet is the procurement constraint. For green-field or refresh projects, use the AT-SP10TM compatible.

Which Allied Telesis switches support the AT-SP10T?

The Allied Telesis AT-SP10T hardware release note lists AT-x510, AT-x510DP, AT-x510L, AT-x530, AT-x530DP, AT-x530L, AT-x550, AT-x930, AT-x950, XS900MX, GS980MX, SBx8100 and SBx908 Gen2 running AlliedWare Plus firmware. Platforms such as AT-x240, CentreCOM GS970EMX, CentreCOM SE240 and SwitchBlade SBX81GC40 are not on the AT-SP10T supported list and are served by the AT-SP10TM successor. Confirm the target switch firmware version against the current Allied Telesis transceiver compatibility matrix before deployment.

What is the maximum reach of the AT-SP10T at 10G?

The AT-SP10T supports up to 20 m at 10G over Cat6a or Cat7 copper, per the Allied Telesis AT-SP10T datasheet. The AT-SP10TM successor extends this to 30 m at 10G and adds 100 m reach at 5G, 2.5G and 1G. Buyers planning runs in the 20 to 30 m range or requiring multi-speed extended reach should size against AT-SP10TM rather than AT-SP10T.
