Allied Telesis compatible AT-SPSX-90 Description

EdgeOptic's AT-SPSX-90 compatible is an Allied Telesis-coded version of the EdgeOptic 1.25G-SFP-550D multi-vendor 1000BASE-SX transceiver. It is a dual-rate SFP that runs Gigabit Ethernet at 1.25 Gbps (IEEE 802.3z) and 1G Fibre Channel short-wave at 1.0625 Gbps (FC-PI), so a single part covers both LAN and SAN short-reach links. The module uses an 850 nm VCSEL transmitter and a PIN photodiode receiver over duplex multimode fiber with an LC/UPC connector.

Reach is 550 m over OM2 multimode fiber (50/125, 500 MHz·km) and 275 m over OM1 (62.5 µm). The minimum guaranteed optical budget is 7.5 dB. Distance is an indicative figure derived from that budget and typical fiber attenuation, so verify the actual link loss for the installed cabling. DOM/DDM is supported for real-time monitoring of optical power, temperature, and bias. The module operates over the standard 0 to 70°C range, runs from a single +3.3V supply, and is built to the INF-8074i SFP MSA, with CE, RoHS, and Class 1 laser compliance.

The -90 suffix identifies the Allied Telesis TAA (Federal procurement) ordering channel for the SPSX optic; the bare AT-SPSX is the non-TAA commercial code. Optical specifications are the same across both. The separate AT-SPSX/I-90 is the industrial-temperature TAA part and is a different module. EdgeOptic codes this compatible with Allied Telesis-recognized EEPROM so it is identified correctly in Allied Telesis SFP-port equipment.

Backed by 15+ years of EdgeOptic compatibility engineering across vendor optical platforms. Ships next business day from EU stock with a lifetime warranty. For deployment questions or a multi-vendor mix, contact our sales team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the AT-SPSX-90 compatible work in Allied Telesis stacking ports?

In standard SFP data ports, yes. Some Allied Telesis stacking ports (for example the dedicated stack ports on AT-x510DP and AT-XS916MXS) accept only ATI-qualified modules and return a "Only ATI qualified modules are supported in this port" message for third-party SFPs. Use the AT-SPSX-90 compatible in regular data ports, and check the chassis transceiver table before populating a stacking port. If you need a module specifically for a stack link, contact our sales team.

What is the difference between AT-SPSX-90 and AT-SPSX?

The optics are identical: 850 nm, 550 m over OM2 MMF, LC duplex, 0 to 70°C. The -90 is Allied Telesis's TAA (Federal/government procurement) ordering code, while the bare AT-SPSX is the standard commercial code. Order against whichever channel your procurement requires. The industrial-temperature variant is a separate part, AT-SPSX/I-90, not this module.
