Our EDGEOPTIC 100G-AOC-QSFP is a multi-vendor compatible 100G QSFP28 active optical cable designed for ultra-high-performance 100 Gigabit Ethernet and InfiniBand applications requiring extended reach beyond copper cable limitations. The 100G-AOC-QSFP features point-to-point configuration with QSFP28 connectors on both ends, utilizing embedded fiber optic technology to deliver reliable high-bandwidth connectivity up to 100 meters for data center interconnects, campus backbones, and inter-row connections in hyperscale environments.
The cable supports data rates from 96.97 to 112.2 Gbps, accommodating the demanding bandwidth requirements of next-generation data center architectures. For Ethernet deployments, the cable handles 100G Ethernet at 103.125 Gbps, supporting spine-leaf topologies and high-performance server connectivity. Additionally, the cable supports InfiniBand EDR at 100 Gbps for high-performance computing clusters, machine learning training infrastructure, and distributed storage systems where low-latency, high-bandwidth interconnects are essential.
The 100G-AOC-QSFP operates at 850nm wavelength, utilizing VCSEL (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) technology for transmission and PIN photodiode for receiving. The embedded multimode fiber supports distances up to 50 meters over OM3 fiber and extends to 100 meters over OM4 fiber, providing deployment flexibility based on available infrastructure. Because the optical fiber is permanently terminated within the cable assembly, there are no exposed fiber connectors to clean or protect, simplifying installation and reducing maintenance requirements compared to traditional optical patch cables with separate transceivers.
The cable supports host-based Forward Error Correction (FEC), enabling enhanced signal integrity and reduced bit error rates for mission-critical applications.
