Our EDGEOPTIC 56G-AOC-QSFP is a multi-vendor compatible 56G QSFP+ active optical cable designed for high-performance computing, InfiniBand FDR infrastructure, and enterprise data center applications requiring extended reach beyond copper cable limitations. The 56G-AOC-QSFP features point-to-point configuration with QSFP+ connectors on both ends, utilizing embedded fiber optic technology to deliver reliable high-bandwidth connectivity up to 100 meters for HPC cluster interconnects, machine learning training infrastructure, and inter-row data center connections.
The cable supports data rates from 48 to 56.1 Gbps, optimized for InfiniBand FDR and related high-bandwidth applications. For InfiniBand deployments, the cable delivers FDR performance at 56 Gbps, providing the backbone connectivity essential for high-performance computing clusters, scientific computing environments, and GPU-accelerated machine learning infrastructure. The cable also supports 50G Ethernet at 53.125 Gbps for emerging data center applications and 16G Fiber Channel at 14.025 Gbps for storage area network connectivity in enterprise environments.
The 56G-AOC-QSFP operates at 850nm wavelength, utilizing VCSEL (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) technology for transmission and PIN photodiode for receiving. The embedded multimode fiber supports distances up to 100 meters over OM3 fiber, providing significant reach advantages over copper alternatives which are typically limited to just a few meters at these data rates.
