Arista compatible SFP-10G-ER Description
EdgeOptic's SFP-10G-ER compatible is an Arista-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-40 multi-vendor 10GBASE-ER SFP+ transceiver, built for 10 Gigabit Ethernet links up to 40 km over duplex single-mode fiber. It carries the Arista ordering code SFP-10G-ER, and the EEPROM is coded with the Arista vendor identifier so Arista EOS recognizes the module on Arista 7000-series switches.
The module operates at 1550 nm over duplex single-mode fiber with an LC/UPC connector. Transmit power is rated from −1 to +4 dBm, receiver sensitivity is better than −16 dBm, and receiver overload is 0 dBm, giving a 15 dB link budget for spans up to 40 km. The protocol scope on Arista 7000-series data-center switches is Ethernet only: 10 Gigabit Ethernet at 10.3125 Gbps and 1 Gigabit Ethernet at 1.25 Gbps. The module runs on a single 3.3 V supply across the 0 to 70 °C standard operating range.
Digital optical monitoring is supported per the SFF-8431 specification, reporting module temperature, supply voltage, laser bias current, transmit optical power and receive optical power in real time. Engineers can read these values from the EOS transceiver detail output to confirm both ends of a link sit within spec during commissioning. The transceiver complies with the SFP MSA and SFF-8431 electrical interface, carries CE marking, meets RoHS requirements, and is rated IEC 60825-1 Class 1 for laser safety.
