Arista SFP-25G-SR Compatible 25GBASE-SR SFP28 for 7050X, 7060X, 7280R and 7388X Series

EdgeOptic's SFP-25G-SR compatible is an Arista-coded version of the EdgeOptic 25G-SFP28-100 multi-vendor SFP28 dual-rate 10G/25G SR transceiver. SFP-25G-SR is Arista Networks' ordering code for the 25GBASE-SR SFP28 module used across the 7050X, 7060X, 7280R and 7388X data-center switch families with 25G SFP28 host ports. The module is programmed with Arista-recognized EEPROM vendor and part-number strings so EOS reads the optic cleanly through the standard SFP28 management interface, without an unlock key.

Optical behavior is 25GBASE-SR per IEEE 802.3by Clause 112 over duplex multi-mode fiber, with 10GBASE-SR support per IEEE 802.3ae on dual-rate SFP28 host ports. Line signaling rate is 10.3125 Gbps at 10GBASE-SR and 25.78125 Gbps at 25GBASE-SR. Reach is 100 m on OM4 and 70 m on OM3, within the SFP28 SerDes envelope defined by SFP28 MSA SFF-8402.

Optical path is 850 nm VCSEL transmitter, PIN photodiode receiver, TX optical power −5 to +2.4 dBm, RX sensitivity better than −10.3 dBm, 5.3 dB link budget, LC duplex connector. Digital diagnostics are SFF-8472 Rev 12.0 compliant, exposing per-module temperature, supply voltage, TX bias, TX power and RX power through the switch's standard transceiver-diagnostics interface. Power dissipation is 0.3 W, the module is hot-swappable, and the operating temperature range is 0 to 70°C commercial.

SFP-25G-SR is positioned against Arista data-center switching platforms with 25G SFP28 interfaces, including the 7050X, 7060X, 7280R and 7388X series. On FEC, 25G FEC mode is configured at the MAC layer on each link partner and the optical path is agnostic to whether RS-FEC per IEEE 802.3by Clause 108 or BASE-R FEC is negotiated on the host. The EOS host FEC profile determines the negotiated mode on the link; confirm the FEC profile on both link partners during commissioning to avoid mismatch on mixed-vendor 25G interconnects. The module is symmetrically compatible with either FEC mode supported on the host port.
