Aruba compatible JM534A Description

The EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 is a compatible replacement for the Aruba JM534A (EC-SFP-LR) 10GBASE-LR SFP+ transceiver. It provides 10 Gigabit Ethernet over single-mode fiber at 1310nm, reaching up to 10km with a duplex LC connector. This module is EEPROM-coded for Aruba Instant On and OfficeConnect platforms.

The transceiver operates at 10.3125 Gbps, supporting 10GBASE-LR (IEEE 802.3ae). It uses a 1310nm DFB laser transmitter paired with a PIN photodiode receiver, with a minimum link budget of 6dB over standard G.652 single-mode fiber.

This module is compatible with Aruba Instant On 1930 series switches with SFP+ ports, and HPE OfficeConnect 1820 and 1950 switches with SFP+ uplinks. The JM534A is the Instant On / OfficeConnect variant of the Aruba 10GBASE-LR SFP+ family.

Aruba uses different part numbers across its product lines for the same 10GBASE-LR specification. The JM534A covers Instant On and OfficeConnect. The J9151E covers managed ArubaOS-Switch platforms (2540, 2930, 3810). The J9151D covers AOS-CX platforms (6200, 6300, 6400). All follow the same 10GBASE-LR optical specification.

Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) is supported per SFF-8472. The module reports TX/RX optical power, temperature, laser bias current, and supply voltage in real time. It is MSA-compliant per SFF-8431 and SFF-8432, CE/RoHS certified, and operates in commercial temperature range (0 to 70C).
