The EdgeOptic SCMD-9A is the Side A half of a 9-channel single fiber passive CWDM multiplexer/demultiplexer, housed in an LGX cassette with LC/UPC connectors. It carries nine Side A channels of the system's 18 optical channels on one fiber, completed by its SCMD-9B counterpart at the far end.
The unit uses CCWDM (Compact CWDM, free space) filter technology on a 20 nm channel grid with a passband of plus or minus 6.5 nm. Insertion loss is 1.9 dB across the passband, with a 1% monitor port at 23 dB. Isolation is 30 dB adjacent and 40 dB non adjacent, with 0.3 dB passband ripple and 0.2 dB polarization dependent loss (PDL).
