Brocade compatible 10G-SFPP-LR-SA Description

EdgeOptic's 10G-SFPP-LR-SA compatible is a Brocade-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 multi-vendor 10GBASE-LR transceiver. The 10G-SFPP-LR-SA ordering code covers a 10GBASE-LR SFP+ at 1310 nm, single-mode, 10 km, on a duplex LC interface with digital diagnostics. The EdgeOptic module meets IEEE 802.3ae Clause 52 and the SFP+ MSA (SFF-8431, SFF-8432). EdgeOptic codes the EEPROM for Brocade host recognition, so the module reports correctly on Brocade switches that accept 10G SFP+ optics.

The transceiver drives 1310 nm into duplex single-mode fiber through an LC connector, with a 6 dB link budget across 10 km. Its DFB laser is specified between −8.2 and 0.5 dBm. The receive side is a PIN photodiode rated at −14.5 dBm sensitivity, with overload at 0 dBm. SFF-8472 digital diagnostics report optical power in both directions, case temperature, supply voltage, and laser bias current.

The module covers 1.25 to 11.32 Gbps, which takes in 10G Ethernet (10.31 Gbps), Gigabit Ethernet (1.25 Gbps), and STM-64 (9.95 Gbps). The host port sets the active rate. It runs from a single +3.3 V supply, is hot-pluggable, and is rated 0 to 70 °C at the case.
