Brocade compatible 10G-SFPP-LR-SA8 Description
EdgeOptic's 10G-SFPP-LR-SA8 compatible is a Brocade-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 multi-vendor 10GBASE-LR transceiver. 10G-SFPP-LR-SA8 identifies a 1310 nm 10GBASE-LR SFP+ on single-mode fiber, duplex LC, rated to 10 km with digital diagnostics. EdgeOptic builds to IEEE 802.3ae Clause 52 and to the SFP+ MSA documents SFF-8431 and SFF-8432. The EEPROM carries Brocade coding, so a Brocade switch that accepts 10G SFP+ optics reads the module correctly.
Operating rates run between 1.25 and 11.32 Gbps, so 10G Ethernet (10.31 Gbps), Gigabit Ethernet (1.25 Gbps), and STM-64 (9.95 Gbps) all fall inside the window, with the switch port choosing the rate in use. Hot-plugging is supported, the commercial case range is 0 to 70 °C, and the module runs from a single +3.3 V supply.
Optically the part is a 1310 nm DFB design on duplex single-mode fiber, LC terminated, carrying 10 km with a 6 dB link budget. Output power falls in the −8.2 to 0.5 dBm window. A PIN photodiode recovers the signal down to −14.5 dBm and tolerates up to 0 dBm before overload. Per SFF-8472, the module publishes transmit power, receive power, temperature, voltage, and bias current over the diagnostic interface.
