Brocade compatible 10G-SFPP-ZRD-T Description
EdgeOptic's 10G-SFPP-ZRD-T compatible is a Brocade (now Broadcom) coded tunable 10G DWDM SFP+ for 80 km C-Band single-mode fiber links. The module is built to the SFP+ MSA (SFF-8431) and ships with Brocade and Ruckus-recognized vendor coding, so MLXe and Ruckus ICX hosts identify it correctly without third-party transceiver warnings.
Optical and electrical specifications: tunable across the ITU 50 GHz C-Band grid (Channels 17 to 61, 1528.38 to 1564.68 nm, 89 channels) with integrated wavelength locker. Reach 80 km over G.652 duplex SMF with a 23 dB optical link budget. Launch power −1 to +4 dBm. RX sensitivity better than −23 dBm. RX overload −6 dBm. Dispersion tolerance 1600 ps/nm. Data rate range 1.25 to 11.32 Gb/s, covering 10G Ethernet, 10G Fibre Channel, 8G Fibre Channel, OC-192/STM-64, and the OTN family (OTU2, OTU2e). Operating case temperature 0 to 70 °C. Duplex LC connector, full DOM/DDM telemetry per SFF-8472, CE and RoHS certified, Class 1 laser per IEC 60825-1.
Host platform compatibility: documented for Brocade MLXe 10 GbE line cards (8x10GbE and 24x10GbE modules) per the Brocade Ethernet Optics Family datasheet, and used in Ruckus ICX deployments where the host accepts third-party optics presenting compatible vendor identity. The wavelength channel is set on the module before insertion using an external SFP programmer; Brocade FastIron and Ruckus ICX OS do not expose an in-band wavelength tuning command for tunable DWDM SFP+. Verify against the Brocade or Ruckus transceiver compatibility matrix for your specific MLXe or ICX chassis model and firmware before ordering.
Backed by 15+ years of EdgeOptic compatibility engineering across vendor optical platforms. Made to order with a 2-week lead time and a lifetime warranty included. For channel-plan provisioning, host coding requests, or volume quoting, contact our sales team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do Ruckus ICX or Brocade MLXe switches block third-party 10G-SFPP-ZRD-T transceivers?
Brocade MLXe and Ruckus ICX hosts accept third-party tunable DWDM SFP+ modules when the EEPROM presents Brocade or Ruckus-recognized vendor identity. EdgeOptic's 10G-SFPP-ZRD-T compatible ships pre-coded for both lines, so the module identifies natively without requiring a third-party transceiver allow command. For platform-specific behavior on a particular FastIron or ICX firmware release, verify against the Brocade or Ruckus transceiver compatibility matrix.
How is the wavelength configured on the 10G-SFPP-ZRD-T in a Ruckus ICX or Brocade MLXe chassis?
Brocade FastIron and Ruckus ICX OS do not expose an in-band CLI command to tune a DWDM SFP+ wavelength channel from the host. The channel must be programmed onto the module's EEPROM before insertion, using an external SFP programmer or by ordering with the channel pre-set. EdgeOptic configures the requested ITU C-Band channel during the made-to-order build, so the module arrives ready for the host port.
