Brocade compatible 40G-QSFP-LR4 Description
EdgeOptic's 40G-QSFP-LR4 compatible is a Brocade-coded version of the EdgeOptic 40G-QSFP-10 multi-vendor 40GBASE-LR4 transceiver. 40G-QSFP-LR4 is the Brocade ordering code for this QSFP+ module, also designated E40G-QSFP-LR4 under the Ruckus and CommScope brand for the same optic. The module is encoded with multiple vendor codes so it is recognized by Brocade and Ruckus Ethernet switches as a native part.
The optic carries four CWDM lanes at 1271, 1291, 1311 and 1331 nm, multiplexed onto a single duplex LC pair over single-mode fiber to 10 km. It runs to IEEE 802.3ba Clause 87 for 40GBASE-LR4, with a 6.6 dB average link budget. Each lane uses a DFB laser at −6 to +3 dBm launch and a PIN photodiode with −12.6 dBm receiver sensitivity per lane and +3 dBm overload. The module meets the QSFP+ MSA, SFF-8436 and INF-8438i, runs across the 0 to 70 °C commercial range, and reports DOM/DDM diagnostics.
This is the Brocade-Foundry era ordering code; the same module is sold as E40G-QSFP-LR4 in the Ruckus and CommScope catalog.
