Brocade Ruckus E25G-SFP28-SR Compatible 10G/25G Dual-Rate SFP28 Transceiver

EdgeOptic's E25G-SFP28-SR compatible is a Brocade/Ruckus-coded version of the EdgeOptic 25G-SFP28-100 multi-vendor SFP28 dual-rate 10G/25G SR transceiver. E25G-SFP28-SR is Brocade/Ruckus's ordering code for the SFP28 25GBASE-SR transceiver in the ICX switch optic catalog. The Brocade Communications Systems and Broadcom transaction closed in 2017, and the ICX campus switching business unit was divested to Arris that same year and later passed to CommScope under the Ruckus Networks brand, so the same ordering code appears under both Brocade and Ruckus branding in distribution channels.

The module operates at 25GBASE-SR per IEEE 802.3by Clause 112 with host RS-FEC per Clause 108 when the ICX port has FEC enabled, and at 10GBASE-SR per IEEE 802.3ae with no host FEC required. Line rate is 10.3125 Gbps at 10GBASE-SR and 25.78125 Gbps at 25GBASE-SR, within the SFP28 SerDes operating range defined by SFP28 MSA SFF-8402.

Optical path is 850 nm VCSEL transmitter, PIN photodiode receiver, TX optical power −5 to +2.4 dBm, RX sensitivity better than −10.3 dBm, 5.3 dB link budget, LC/UPC duplex connector. Reach is 100 m on OM4 and 70 m on OM3. Digital diagnostics are SFF-8472 Rev 12.2 compliant, exposing per-module temperature, supply voltage, TX bias, TX power, and RX power. Power dissipation is 0.3 W, the module is hot-swappable, and the operating temperature range is 0 to 70°C commercial.

E25G-SFP28-SR is positioned against ICX-series switches with SFP28 25G uplink or downlink ports.
