Brocade compatible E40G-QSFP-LR4-INT Description

EdgeOptic's E40G-QSFP-LR4-INT compatible is a Brocade-coded version of the EdgeOptic 40G-QSFP-10 multi-vendor 40GBASE-LR4 transceiver. It is a QSFP+ module built to IEEE 802.3ba Clause 87, carrying 40 Gigabit Ethernet over four CWDM lanes at 1271, 1291, 1311 and 1331 nm. The module reaches 10 km over single-mode fiber through a duplex LC interface.

The DFB transmitter holds each lane between −6 and +3 dBm. A PIN photodiode receiver delivers −12.6 dBm per-lane sensitivity with a +3 dBm overload point, giving a 6.6 dB link budget for the full 10 km span. The module operates across the 0 to 70 °C commercial range with full DOM telemetry for live optical monitoring. Don't confuse the E40G-QSFP-LR4-INT with the shorter-reach 40GBASE-SR4 parallel optics that share the QSFP+ cage but use MPO connectors and multimode fiber.

This compatible is coded for Brocade and Ruckus Ethernet switching platforms, including the ICX, VDX and SLX lines. EdgeOptic writes Ruckus-recognized EEPROM so the host accepts the optic as a qualified module. Verify the exact port assignment against the switch transceiver table during commissioning, and confirm both ends of the link run matching 40GBASE-LR4 optics.

Backed by 15+ years of EdgeOptic compatibility engineering across vendor optical platforms. Ships next business day from EU stock with a lifetime warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between E40G-QSFP-LR4-INT and E40G-QSFP-LR4?

Both are Brocade and Ruckus part numbers for a 40GBASE-LR4 QSFP+ module using four CWDM lanes, LC duplex and 10 km over single-mode fiber. They differ only by Brocade ordering code, not by optical specification. If a port list calls out the base E40G-QSFP-LR4, order against that page instead. For help matching the right code to your switch, contact our sales team.

Will the E40G-QSFP-LR4-INT work in Ruckus ICX switches without an unsupported-transceiver error?

Yes. EdgeOptic codes this compatible with Ruckus-recognized EEPROM, so Brocade and Ruckus ICX, VDX and SLX switches accept it as a qualified optic. If a specific image or switch model flags the module, contact our sales team for the correct coding.
