Check Point compatible CPAC-TR-40SR-QSFP-BiDi Description

EdgeOptic's CPAC-TR-40SR-QSFP-BiDi compatible is a Check Point-coded version of the EdgeOptic BIDI-40G-QSFP-150 multi-vendor 40G BiDi QSFP+ transceiver. The module uses duplex LC connectors and runs over a single OM3, OM4 or OM5 multimode fiber pair with dual 850/900nm BiDi wavelengths, replacing the eight-fiber (four TX plus four RX) MPO/MTP cabling a standard 40GBASE-SR4 optic requires.

Reach is 150 meters over duplex multimode fiber with a 2 dB average link budget. The transmitter is a VCSEL and the receiver uses a PIN photodiode, with average launch power of -4 to 5 dBm per lane and average receive sensitivity of -6 to 3 dBm per lane. Operating temperature is 0 to 70 degrees C, and DDM/DOM diagnostics are supported per SFF-8436. The design follows IEEE 802.3ba, the QSFP+ MSA and INF-8438i, with CE, RoHS and Class 1 laser safety certification per IEC 60825-1.

The CPAC-TR-40SR-QSFP-BiDi occupies a single 40G QSFP+ port and does not support breakout to four 10G channels; it operates only as a native 40G BiDi port. Full optical specifications for the underlying transceiver are documented on the BIDI-40G-QSFP-150 product page.

Backed by 15+ years of EdgeOptic compatibility engineering across vendor optical platforms, the CPAC-TR-40SR-QSFP-BiDi compatible ships next business day from EU stock with a lifetime warranty. For platform-specific verification or volume pricing, contact our sales team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the CPAC-TR-40SR-QSFP-BiDi be split into 4x10G channels?

No. Check Point's own support documentation for the CPAC-TR-40SR-QSFP-BiDi describes it as a standard 40GBASE-SR BiDi QSFP+ transceiver with a duplex LC connector, and states plainly that it cannot be used to split the 40G port into 4x10G channels. Plan the port as a native 40G BiDi link, not a breakout option.

Which Check Point appliances support the CPAC-TR-40SR-QSFP-BiDi?

Check Point publishes appliance-specific optics support in its Appliance Accessory Guide. Confirm the target appliance model and QSFP+ port against that guide before ordering, since supported appliance ranges vary by hardware generation.
