The QSFP-100G-4W40-I is a Cisco compatible 100GBASE-ER4 Lite QSFP28 (Quad Small Form-Factor Pluggable 28) Transceiver that operates across four independent optical communication lanes separated by LAN WDM technology. With a minimum guaranteed optical budget of 20 dB (with host FEC) and 16 dB (without host FEC), the module may reach distances of 40 km (with host FEC) and 30 km (without host FEC) utilizing single-mode cable. Distance, on the other hand, is merely an informative metric determined for ease of identification. Finally, we calculate distance using a minimum optical budget and industry average attenuation of optical cabling. Cisco Compatible QSFP-100G-4W40-I uses EML cooled 4x25Gb/s LAN WDM TOSA (1295.56, 1300.05, 1304.58, 1309.14nm) laser transmitters and 4 x 25 Gb/s APD ROSA receivers. DDM/DOM optical diagnostics are supported by this module, which offer diagnostic information regarding the current operating conditions.
