EdgeOptic's GLC-BX80-U-I compatible is a Cisco-coded version of the EdgeOptic BIDI-1.25G-SFP-80-ADI multi-vendor Gigabit Ethernet BiDi SFP transceiver. The module ships with a single LC/UPC connector over one strand of single-mode fiber, transmitting at 1490 nm and receiving at 1550 nm across an 80 km link with a 22 dB average link budget.

A DFB laser transmitter and PIN photodiode receiver cover the 1.0625 to 1.25 Gbps data rate range, supporting Gigabit Ethernet and 1G Fiber Channel applications. Minimum transmit power is -2 dBm, maximum transmit power is 3 dBm, and receiver sensitivity is -24 dBm with a -3 dBm overload point. Digital diagnostic monitoring is supported for real time visibility into transmit power, receive power, temperature and bias current. The module runs from a single 3.3V supply and is rated for the industrial temperature range of -45C to +85C, with CE, RoHS, FDA and IEC60825-1 laser safety, INF-8074i and SFP MSA compliance.
