Cisco compatible ONS-SC+-10G-LR Description
The EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 is a compatible replacement for the Cisco ONS-SC+-10G-LR 10GBASE-LR SFP+ transceiver. It provides 10 Gigabit Ethernet over single-mode fiber at 1310nm, reaching up to 10km with a duplex LC connector. Cisco EEPROM coded for ONS transport platforms.
The transceiver operates at 10.3125 Gbps, supporting 10GBASE-LR per IEEE 802.3ae. It uses a 1310nm DFB laser transmitter paired with a PIN photodiode receiver, with a minimum link budget of 6dB over standard G.652 single-mode fiber. Dual-rate operation at 1G Ethernet (1.25 Gbps) is also supported on ports that allow rate negotiation.
This module is compatible with Cisco ONS 15454 MSTP and NCS 2000 series transport platforms. The Cisco-coded EEPROM is recognized without generating FAILED status in CTC or TL1 management interfaces.
The ONS-SC+ prefix designates optics for Cisco’s optical transport line cards, distinct from the standard SFP-10G-LR used on Catalyst and Nexus switches. Both are 10GBASE-LR at 1310nm/10km but carry different EEPROM coding for their respective platform families.
Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) is supported per SFF-8472. The module reports TX/RX optical power, temperature, laser bias current, and supply voltage in real time. CE/RoHS certified, commercial temperature range (0 to 70 °C).
