Cisco compatible SFP-OC12-IR1 Description
The Cisco SFP-OC12-IR1 is an OC-12/STM-4 SONET/SDH transceiver that operates at the 622.08 Mbps SONET line rate over single-mode fiber at 1310 nm, rated for intermediate-reach spans on standard SMF. It is a SONET/SDH transport optic governed by the Telcordia GR-253 optical interface specification, a different device class from Gigabit Ethernet 1000BASE-LX modules.
OC-12/STM-4 SONET runs at 622 Mbps with a transmit-power and receiver profile defined for SONET intermediate reach, which differs from the 1.25 Gbps line rate and optical power profile of the 1000BASE-LX Gigabit Ethernet class.
