Comnet compatible SFP-6 Description
EdgeOptic's SFP-6 compatible is a Comnet-coded version of the EdgeOptic 1.25G-SFP-20DI multi-vendor single-mode SFP transceiver. It operates at 1310nm on both transmit and receive paths, covering Gigabit Ethernet at 1.25 Gbps and 1G Fiber Channel at 1.0625 Gbps over duplex LC single-mode fiber.
Comnet's own product page rates the OEM SFP-6 as a 1000BASE-LX transceiver at 1310nm with a 15 km reach over duplex LC single-mode fiber. EdgeOptic's compatible module is built to a 13 dB average link budget, supporting distances up to 20 km, so it meets and exceeds the OEM SFP-6's own rated reach while remaining a functional drop-in replacement.
The transmitter is an FP laser rated −9 dBm minimum to 3 dBm maximum output power across a 100 nm window from 1260 to 1360 nm. The receiver is a PIN photodiode rated for −22 dBm sensitivity and −3 dBm overload, with dispersion tolerance of 140 to 160 ps/nm. DDM/DOM diagnostics follow SFF-8472, covering transmit power, receive power, bias current, voltage and temperature. Power draw runs on a +3.3V supply, terminating in a double LC/UPC duplex connector.
