DEM-432XT D-Link Compatible 10G SFP+ LR Module

DEM-432XT is D-Link’s part number for a 10GBASE-LR SFP+ transceiver designed for their business and enterprise managed switch families. EdgeOptic’s compatible replacement is built on our 10G-SFP-10 platform, coded with D-Link-recognized EEPROM so DGS and DXS series switches accept the module without compatibility alerts. The compatible functions identically to the original D-Link optic in all supported platforms.

Optical specifications follow the 10GBASE-LR standard: 1310 nm DFB laser transmitter, PIN photodiode receiver, 10 km reach over G.652 single-mode fiber with duplex LC/UPC connectors. Data rate support covers the full 10.3125 Gbps line rate. The module meets IEEE 802.3ae, SFF-8431, SFF-8432, and SFF-8472 for DDM. Channel insertion loss stays within the standard 6.3 dB budget, and the commercial operating temperature range is 0°C to 70°C.

Primary platform targets for the DEM-432XT are D-Link’s DGS-3630 L3 stackable managed switches and the DXS-3600 10GbE aggregation platform. The DGS-3630 series is common in campus distribution and server room aggregation where 10G uplinks connect access-layer DGS-1510 or DGS-3000 stacks to the distribution layer. The DXS-3600-32S, with 24 SFP+ ports, frequently uses LR optics for inter-building runs where the fiber distance exceeds the 300 m limit of short-reach multimode optics.

D-Link also qualifies the DEM-432XT in the DXS-1210 series and DGS-3120 platforms that have SFP+ expansion slots. Before ordering, confirm SFP+ slot availability on the target platform since some D-Link models (particularly entry-level units like the DGS-1100 or DGS-1210-10P) only carry SFP (1G) slots and won’t physically accept an SFP+ module. The DEM-432XT is a 10G-only transceiver and does not operate at 1G speeds in SFP slots, even on platforms that support dual-rate modules in other contexts. D-Link’s product naming can also cause confusion: the DEM-431XT is the short-reach (SR) multimode variant, while the DEM-432XT is the long-reach (LR) single-mode variant. Confirm the fiber type at both ends before ordering.
