DEM-436XT-BXU Compatible 10G BiDi SFP+ 20km, Tx1270/Rx1330

EdgeOptic's DEM-436XT-BXU compatible is a D-Link-coded Tx1270/Rx1330 version of the EdgeOptic BIDI-10G-SFP-20A multi-vendor 10G BiDi SFP+ transceiver. It carries D-Link-recognized identification data, so D-Link switches with 10G SFP+ ports read it as a matching module. The 10GBASE-BX20-U designation marks the upstream A-side of a bidirectional pair: it transmits at 1270 nm and receives at 1330 nm over a single strand of single-mode fiber.

Bidirectional operation uses one fiber for both directions, so a deployment needs half the fiber count of a conventional duplex link. The DEM-436XT-BXU must be paired at the far end with a downstream B-side module that transmits at 1330 nm and receives at 1270 nm, such as the DEM-436XT-BXD. Reach is 20 km over single-mode fiber, with a 9 dB link budget covering connector and splice loss across the span. The module uses a single LC/UPC connector.

The optical interface uses a DFB laser transmitter and a PIN photodiode receiver. Transmit power runs from −5 dBm to 0 dBm, receiver sensitivity is better than −14.5 dBm, and the receiver tolerates input up to +4 dBm before overload. The module runs on a single +3.3 V supply across a 0 to 70 C operating range and supports digital optical monitoring, so host equipment can read live temperature, supply voltage, laser bias, and optical power. Build and safety compliance follows the SFP MSA and SFF-8431, with Class 1 laser rating per IEC 60825-1.
