400G OSFP112 Passive DAC Twinax Copper Cable (0.5-3m) Description

The EDGEOPTIC 400G-PDAC-OSFP112 is a high-speed passive direct attach copper (DAC) cable designed to meet the demands of next-generation 400 Gigabit Ethernet and InfiniBand NDR environments. Equipped with OSFP112 connectors on both ends, it provides a simple and efficient point-to-point connection for short-reach, ultra-high-bandwidth links within modern data centers, including switch interconnects, AI/ML clusters, and hyperscale cloud infrastructure.

Supporting data rates from 106.25 up to 425 Gbps, this cable offers excellent flexibility for evolving network requirements. It fully supports 100G, 200G, and 400G Ethernet, enabling smooth scaling to higher speeds as infrastructure grows. In InfiniBand environments, it supports NDR (Next Data Rate), delivering the high throughput required for high-performance computing, AI training, and GPU-intensive workloads where low latency and high bandwidth are critical.

As a passive DAC solution, the cable operates without external power and introduces virtually zero latency, making it ideal for performance-sensitive applications. It is built using high-quality twinax copper with an AWG26 construction, ensuring strong signal integrity over distances up to 3 meters while maintaining durability and manageable flexibility for dense rack environments.

The cable includes DDM/DOM functionality, allowing real-time monitoring of key operating parameters such as temperature and voltage. This helps improve network reliability and simplifies maintenance by enabling proactive diagnostics.

Compliant with OSFP MSA and SFF-8679 standards, as well as IEEE 802.3ck and InfiniBand NDR specifications, the cable ensures broad compatibility with next-generation networking equipment. It operates within a standard temperature range of 0 to 70°C and offers an MTBF of 1,000,000 hours, supporting long-term, dependable operation in mission-critical deployments.

Typical use cases include high-speed switch-to-switch connections in spine-leaf architectures, GPU cluster networking for AI and machine learning workloads, and high-performance storage fabrics. Its passive, energy-efficient design also contributes to reduced power consumption in large-scale data center environments.

Each cable is thoroughly tested prior to shipment, including electrical performance validation and connector inspection, to ensure consistent quality and reliability. It is CE and RoHS certified, meeting international safety and environmental standards.
