Dell (Force10) compatible 407-BBEE Description
EdgeOptic's 407-BBEE compatible is a Dell-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 multi-vendor 10GBASE-LR transceiver. 407-BBEE is a Dell ordering code for a 10GBASE-LR SFP+ that operates at 1310 nm over single-mode fiber to 10 km. Built to IEEE 802.3ae Clause 52 and the SFP+ MSA (SFF-8431, SFF-8432), the EdgeOptic module carries Dell EEPROM coding, so Dell and Force10 switches that accept 10G SFP+ optics recognize it on insertion.
A 6 dB link budget covers 10 km of duplex single-mode fiber terminated on LC connectors. The DFB transmitter launches between −8.2 and 0.5 dBm at 1310 nm, while the PIN photodiode receiver holds −14.5 dBm sensitivity and takes optical input up to 0 dBm without overload.
SFF-8472 digital diagnostics expose live TX power, RX power, case temperature, supply voltage and laser bias current to the host. Supported line rates run from 1.25 to 11.32 Gbps, taking in 10G Ethernet at 10.31 Gbps, Gigabit Ethernet at 1.25 Gbps and STM-64 at 9.95 Gbps. Power comes from a single +3.3 V supply, the case is rated for 0 to 70 °C, and the module is hot-pluggable.
