EdgeOptic's 407-BBZV compatible is a Dell-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 multi-vendor 10GBASE-LR transceiver. Dell lists 407-BBZV in its catalogue as "Dell Networking, Transceiver, SFP+, LC, LR, 10G". The EdgeOptic compatible matches that description: a 1310 nm 10GBASE-LR optic for single-mode links out to 10 km. EdgeOptic codes the EEPROM for Dell, so Dell and Force10 switches that accept 10G SFP+ optics read the module as a Dell part.
The optical path pairs a 1310 nm DFB laser with a PIN photodiode. Launch power sits between −8.2 and 0.5 dBm, receiver sensitivity reaches −14.5 dBm, and the receiver takes up to 0 dBm before overload. With a 6 dB link budget, the module carries a full 10 km span of duplex single-mode fiber on LC connectors.
