Dell (Force10) compatible GP-10GSFP-1L Description
EdgeOptic's GP-10GSFP-1L compatible is a Dell Force10-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 multi-vendor 10GBASE-LR transceiver. GP-10GSFP-1L is Dell's Force10 ordering code for a 10GBASE-LR SFP+ at 1310 nm, single-mode, 10 km, duplex LC, with DOM. The EdgeOptic module meets IEEE 802.3ae Clause 52 and the SFP+ MSA (SFF-8431, SFF-8432). EdgeOptic codes the EEPROM for Dell host recognition, so the module reports correctly on Dell and Force10 platforms that accept 10G SFP+ optics.
The module runs 1310 nm over duplex single-mode fiber with an LC connector and covers 10 km with a 6 dB link budget. A DFB laser keeps output between −8.2 and 0.5 dBm. The PIN photodiode receiver is rated to −14.5 dBm sensitivity and 0 dBm overload. SFF-8472 digital diagnostics report TX and RX optical power, temperature, supply voltage, and laser bias current.
Line rates from 1.25 to 11.32 Gbps are in range, covering 10G Ethernet (10.31 Gbps), Gigabit Ethernet (1.25 Gbps), and STM-64 (9.95 Gbps), with the port setting the active rate. The module is hot-pluggable and runs from a single +3.3 V supply within a 0 to 70 °C commercial case range.
