EdgeOptic's Dell SFP-10G-T compatible is a Dell-coded 10GBASE-T copper SFP+ transceiver built for Dell PowerSwitch and Dell Force10 networking platforms. Dell's native ordering code for this module is GP-10GSFP-T; SFP-10G-T is the cross-vendor name engineers use when sourcing interoperable replacements across procurement systems. EdgeOptic's EEPROM is programmed for Dell platform recognition on DNOS and OS10 so the module appears as a recognised optic to show interface transceiver and the equivalent SmartFabric inventory commands.

Electrical specifications follow the SFF-8431 SFP+ MSA with IEEE 802.3an for 10GBASE-T and IEEE 802.3bz for 2.5GBASE-T and 5GBASE-T auto-negotiation on the RJ45 interface. Reach is up to 30 m on Cat6a or Cat7 twisted pair; the 80 m Dell variant (GP-10GSFP-T80) is a separate part with its own EdgeOptic equivalent. Operating range is 0 to 65 °C commercial grade, with CE and RoHS certification. DOM/DDM telemetry is reported through standard MSA registers for case temperature, supply voltage, and link status.

Target platforms span both the Force10 heritage line and the current Dell PowerSwitch catalogue: Force10 S-series (S4810, S4820T) and Z-series, Dell PowerSwitch S5248F-ON, S5448F-ON, and N-series switches with SFP+ cages. Dell's SmartFabric OS10 documents a high-power optics configuration flag for 10GBASE-T copper SFP+ on certain PowerSwitch models; confirm whether the target OS10 image on a given chassis requires that flag before bringing copper SFP+ ports into service. This is a platform power-budget configuration independent of EEPROM coding — the Dell-coded EEPROM ensures the module is recognised as a qualified optic, but the per-port high-power enable step is a separate chassis configuration.

EEPROM coding targets Dell networking switches (Force10 heritage and current PowerSwitch). Dell PowerEdge servers with SFP+ NICs — typically Intel X520 or X710 — read transceiver EEPROM against the NIC vendor's qualified list rather than Dell's switch list, so a switch-coded module is not the expected fit on the server side. Per-port power draw for 10GBASE-T copper is higher than optical SFP+; verify the host switch's per-port power budget on high-density line cards before populating adjacent cages.
