EdgeOptic's Edgecore Networks ET6401-LR4 compatible is an Edgecore-coded 40GBASE-LR4 version of the EdgeOptic 40G-QSFP-10 multi-vendor QSFP+ transceiver. It carries ET6401-LR4 coding so Edgecore open networking switches read it as a native 40G LR4 optic for 40 Gigabit Ethernet links over single-mode fiber.
The module follows IEEE 802.3ba Clause 87 for 40GBASE-LR4, with four CWDM lanes at 1271, 1291, 1311 and 1331 nm multiplexed onto one duplex LC connection. It reaches 10 km over standard G.652 single-mode fiber and carries a 6.6 dB optical link budget. A DFB laser drives each lane between −6 dBm and +3 dBm, the PIN receiver holds −12.6 dBm sensitivity per lane with a +3 dBm overload point, and the module operates across the 0 to 70 °C commercial range. DOM reports temperature, supply voltage, laser bias, and optical power in real time.
