Ericsson compatible RDH 102 50/3 Description
EdgeOptic's RDH 102 50/3 compatible is an Ericsson-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 multi-vendor 10GBASE-LR transceiver. RDH 102 50/3, also written RDH10250/3, is Ericsson's part number for a 10GBASE-LR SFP+ module used in Ericsson transport and radio access network equipment. The EdgeOptic compatible is a direct drop-in replacement: 1310 nm over duplex single-mode fiber, LC connector, up to 10 km reach, built to IEEE 802.3ae Clause 52 and the SFP+ MSA (SFF-8431).
A 1310 nm DFB laser drives the transmitter, with a PIN photodiode on the receive side. Transmit power runs from −8.2 dBm minimum to 0.5 dBm maximum, receiver sensitivity is better than −14.5 dBm, and receiver overload sits at 0 dBm, giving a 6 dB link budget across the 1260 to 1360 nm operating range. The module runs from a single 3.3 V supply over the standard 0 to 70 C commercial temperature range. DOM per SFF-8472 reports live transmit and receive optical power, temperature, supply voltage, and laser bias current to the host.
The chipset handles rates from 1.25 to 10.31 Gbps, covering 10G Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, 1/2/4/8/10G Fibre Channel, and STM-64. Supported applications depend on the host port configuration, but the module matches the functionality of the original Ericsson part. EdgeOptic codes the EEPROM for Ericsson recognition, so the module is identified natively in Ericsson network equipment.
