Extreme compatible 10310 Description

EdgeOptic's 10310 compatible is an Extreme Networks-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-80 multi-vendor 10GBASE-ZR transceiver. 10310 is Extreme's numeric ordering code for a 10GBASE-ZR SFP+ optic, and this compatible matches that part spec for spec. The module operates at a 1550 nm nominal wavelength over duplex single-mode fiber through an LC connector, with a 23 dB link budget rated for reach up to 80 km. EML-laser transmit and APD-photodiode receive give a TX output of 0 to +5 dBm and RX sensitivity better than −24 dBm, while a 1600 ps/nm dispersion tolerance holds the signal stable across long single-mode spans. The single 1550 nm wavelength over duplex single-mode fiber carries Ethernet uplinks past the 40 km reach of an ER optic across metro and inter-site spans.

DOM/DDM support exposes live optical readings for TX power, RX power, temperature, laser bias, and supply voltage. The optic runs on a single +3.3V supply and is built to the standard 0 to 70 °C temperature range. It carries 10G Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet, matching the Ethernet switching workloads handled by Extreme Networks ExtremeXOS / Switch Engine platforms. On short links well inside the 80 km design reach, add an in-line attenuator so the high launch power of a ZR optic does not overload the receiver.

Both 10310 and 10GB-ZR-SFPP are Extreme Networks catalog identifiers for this same 10GBASE-ZR module, so a quote written against either code points to the same optic. EdgeOptic codes the EEPROM with Extreme vendor identity for recognition on ExtremeXOS and Switch Engine switches; confirm the part against the Extreme Networks optics compatibility matrix for your specific switch model before deployment. The module is built to the SFP+ MSA (SFF-8431) and is CE, RoHS, and Class 1 laser safety compliant per IEC 60825-1.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Extreme 10310 the same module as the 10GB-ZR-SFPP?

Yes. Extreme Networks lists 10310 and 10GB-ZR-SFPP in the same product row of its optical transceiver guide as two ordering codes for one 10GBASE-ZR SFP+ 80 km module. Either code orders the same physical optic; EdgeOptic maintains a separate page for each because engineers quote by both.
