EdgeOptic's AA1403011-E6 compatible is an Extreme Networks-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 multi-vendor 10GBASE-LR transceiver. Extreme Networks documents its LR SFP+ module as a 10 Gb optical connection over single-mode fiber with LC connectors, reaching up to 10 km and conforming to the 10GBASE-LR standard. The EdgeOptic module matches that class, meeting IEEE 802.3ae Clause 52 and the SFP+ MSA (SFF-8431, SFF-8432). EdgeOptic codes the EEPROM for Extreme host recognition, so the module reports correctly on Extreme Networks switches that accept 10G SFP+ optics.
The module works at 1310 nm across duplex single-mode fiber, terminated LC, with a 6 dB link budget over the 10 km reach. Its DFB laser is specified between −8.2 and 0.5 dBm, and the PIN photodiode receiver runs from −14.5 dBm sensitivity to 0 dBm overload. SFF-8472 diagnostics make TX power, RX power, temperature, supply voltage, and laser bias current readable from the switch.
Rates from 1.25 to 11.32 Gbps are supported, covering 10G Ethernet (10.31 Gbps), Gigabit Ethernet (1.25 Gbps), and STM-64 (9.95 Gbps); the active rate follows the host port. Power comes from a single +3.3 V supply, the case is rated 0 to 70 °C, and the module is hot-pluggable.
