EdgeOptic's MGBIC-BX10-D compatible is an Extreme Networks-coded version of the EdgeOptic BiDi-1.25G-SFP-21-BD multi-vendor 1000BASE-BX BiDi SFP transceiver. It transmits at 1490 nm and receives at 1310 nm over a single strand of single-mode fiber through an LC connector, conforming to IEEE 802.3ah 1000BASE-BX10. The module pairs with an MGBIC-BX10-U unit at the far end of the link, matching Extreme Networks' own BiDi pairing scheme.
EdgeOptic's compatible is built to a 20 km reach with a 15 dB optical link budget. It uses a DFB laser and PIN photodiode, with transmit power from −9 to 3 dBm, receiver sensitivity of −22 dBm and an overload point of −3 dBm.
