F5 Networks compatible F5-UPG-QSFP28-SR4 Description

EdgeOptic's F5-UPG-QSFP28-SR4 compatible is an F5 Networks-coded version of the EdgeOptic 100G-QSFP28-100 multi-vendor QSFP28 transceiver, a 100GBASE-SR4 module built to the IEEE 802.3bm Clause 95 specification. The same universal part carries multiple vendor codes, so one EdgeOptic SKU drops into F5 iSeries, rSeries, VIPRION, and VELOS platforms that lists F5-UPG-QSFP28-SR4 as a supported transceiver. It is EEPROM-coded for the F5 Networks host so it registers cleanly without manual overrides.

Optical specifications: four 850 nm VCSEL lanes at 25.78125 Gbps each, NRZ modulation, RX sensitivity better than −10.3 dBm per lane, and a 1.9 dB average link budget. Reach is 100 m over OM4 and 70 m over OM3 multimode fiber. The module terminates in an 8-fiber parallel MPO-12 (UPC) interface, four transmit and four receive lanes, with a female port that mates to a male pinned MPO cable. DDM/DOM diagnostics report temperature, supply voltage, laser bias, and per-lane optical power. Power draw is 3.5 W and the operating range is 0 to 70 degrees C. No host FEC is required for 100GBASE-SR4.

F5 deploys this optic as a 100 Gigabit Ethernet upgrade module across its application-delivery hardware. Works on F5 Networks iSeries, rSeries, VIPRION, and VELOS platforms; verify the part against the F5 platform guide for the target chassis. The module is CE and RoHS certified and compliant with the QSFP28 SFF-8636 MSA.
