EdgeOptic's FTL4C1QE1C-1B compatible is a Finisar (now part of Coherent) coded version of the EdgeOptic 40G-QSFP-10 multi-vendor 40GBASE-LR4 transceiver. It carries the EEPROM coding for the Finisar FTL4C1QE1C ordering code, the first-generation 40GBASE-LR4 QSFP+ module in this line. The -1B tag here is an internal catalog designation; the canonical OEM ordering code is FTL4C1QE1C, and the module matches that part's published specification.
The module runs four CWDM lanes at 1271, 1291, 1311 and 1331 nm, multiplexed onto a single duplex single-mode pair over an LC/UPC connector for reach up to 10 km. Each lane uses an uncooled DFB laser into a PIN photodiode receiver. Per-lane launch power sits between −6 and +3 dBm, receiver sensitivity is −12.6 dBm per lane, and overload is +3 dBm, for an average link budget of 6.6 dB. Aggregate signaling is 41.25 Gb/s NRZ, conforming to IEEE 802.3ba Clause 87 for 40GBASE-LR4.
This is an Ethernet-only part. It does not carry the OTU3 transport rates that the multirate FTL4C1QM series adds, so if a deployment needs OTN framing, the QM variant is the correct order. Mechanically and electrically the module follows the QSFP+ MSA, SFF-8436 and INF-8438i, and it reports diagnostics through the standard DOM/DDM I2C memory map.
