Finisar compatible FTLC2151RDPL Description

EdgeOptic's FTLC2151RDPL compatible is a Finisar-coded 100GBASE-ER4 Lite QSFP28 transceiver for 40 km links over single-mode fiber. The original Finisar SKU (now part of Coherent's portfolio after the 2022 acquisition) is widely deployed across multi-vendor switch and router platforms that source Finisar-branded optics. EdgeOptic's compatible matches the original electrical and optical specifications, ships with the EEPROM identification expected by the host platform, and is built to operate as a transparent replacement.

Optical specifications follow the 100GBASE-ER4 Lite specification: four LAN-WDM channels at 1295.56, 1300.05, 1304.58, and 1309.14 nm, EML transmitters, APD receivers, LC duplex SMF, and 103.125 Gbps line rate over a 4-lane CAUI-4 100GE host interface (4 x 25.78125 Gbps). The optical link budget is 22 dB with FEC enabled at the host, supporting the 40 km design reach, and 18 dB without FEC. DDM is supported through the SFF-8636 management interface, so engineers can pull TX power, RX power, bias current, voltage, and temperature directly from the host CLI.

Power consumption is rated at 4.5 W maximum, and the operating temperature range is 0 to 70 °C. Each unit is compliant with SFF-8665 QSFP28 MSA mechanicals and the 100GBASE-ER4 Lite specification, and carries CE and RoHS certification. The module accepts the LAN-WDM grid at both ends of the link, so pair the FTLC2151RDPL with another 100GBASE-ER4 Lite optic on the far side for a clean reach-class match.

Don't confuse the FTLC2151RDPL with the FTLC2151SDPL. The two SKUs share the QSFP28 form factor and the LAN-WDM wavelength plan, but they are sold as different Finisar variants with different application coding. Verify the exact part number stamped on the module being replaced before ordering.
