FTLC9554REPM Finisar Compatible 100GBASE-SR4 QSFP28 Transceiver

EdgeOptic's FTLC9554REPM compatible is a Finisar-coded 100GBASE-SR4 version of the EdgeOptic 100G-QSFP28-100 multi-vendor short-reach transceiver, one universal QSFP28 module coded for a range of switch and router vendors. It carries 100G Ethernet over four parallel 850 nm VCSEL lanes at 25G each across multimode fiber, terminated on an MTP/MPO-12 (UPC) connector using 8 active fibers, 4 transmit and 4 receive. The transceiver port is female (unpinned); the patch cable is the pinned male side, so a transceiver-to-transceiver link uses a male-to-male Type B MPO cable. Reach is 70 m over OM3 and 100 m over OM4, per IEEE 802.3bm Clause 95.

Optical specifications include a 1.9 dB average link budget, receiver sensitivity of −10.3 dBm per lane, and NRZ modulation. The transmitter uses 850 nm VCSEL lasers; the receiver is a PIN photodiode. OM4 supports the full 100 m while OM3 is rated to 70 m, with achievable distance depending on patch panels, splices, and connector cleanliness in the installed link. DDM/DOM is supported, so the host can read live optical power, temperature, bias, and voltage. The module operates across the 0°C to 70°C commercial temperature range and is compliant with the QSFP28 MSA and SFF-8665. This is a 100G Ethernet short-reach optic; it does not carry Fibre Channel, OTN, or SONET traffic.

The OEM FTLC9554REPM is a Gen2 low-latency build rated down to 40 m at its no-FEC operating point, with longer reaches up to 100 m requiring host FEC. The EdgeOptic compatible is the standard 100GBASE-SR4 build, rated 100 m over OM4 and 70 m over OM3, so it covers the OEM module's shorter-reach application as well as full-distance links.
