Finisar compatible FTLX1475D3BCV Description

The EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 is a compatible replacement for the Finisar FTLX1475D3BCV 10GBASE-LR SFP+ transceiver. It provides 10 Gigabit Ethernet over single-mode fiber at 1310nm, reaching up to 10km with a duplex LC connector. This is a dual-rate 1G/10G module with pull-tab latch.

The transceiver supports 1000BASE-LX at 1.25 Gbps and 10GBASE-LR at 10.3125 Gbps. It uses a 1310nm DFB laser transmitter paired with a PIN photodiode receiver, with a minimum link budget of 6dB over standard G.652 single-mode fiber.

The FTLX1475D3BCV and FTLX1471D3BCV are distinct Finisar SKUs with different mechanical latch designs. The FTLX1475D3BCV uses a pull-tab latch, while the FTLX1471D3BCV uses a bail latch. Both are vendor-coded modules with platform-specific EEPROM variants available.

The FTLX1475D3BCL is the MSA-standard pull-tab version. The FTLX1471D3BCV is the vendor-coded version with standard bail latch. The FTLX1471D3BCL is the MSA-standard bail latch version. All four share the same optical specs.

Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) is supported per SFF-8472. The module reports TX/RX optical power, temperature, laser bias current, and supply voltage in real time. It is MSA-compliant per SFF-8431 and SFF-8432, CE/RoHS certified, and operates in commercial temperature range (0 to 70C).

All EdgeOptic modules ship with a lifetime warranty and are tested before dispatch. For volume pricing or project support, contact our sales team.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between FTLX1475D3BCV and FTLX1475D3BCL?

Both the FTLX1475D3BCV and FTLX1475D3BCL use a pull-tab latch. The only difference is EEPROM coding. BCV is vendor-coded with platform-specific identification data. BCL is MSA-standard without vendor-specific coding.

What does the -I3 suffix mean on the FTLX1475D3BCV?

The -I3 suffix indicates Intel EEPROM coding. This variant is used in Intel Ethernet adapters like the X520 series and is coded to be recognized by Intel platforms as equivalent to the E10GSFPLR.

Is the FTLX1475D3BCV a dual-rate module?

Yes. It supports 1000BASE-LX at 1.25 Gbps and 10GBASE-LR at 10.3125 Gbps. Dual-rate operation requires the host port to support rate-select per SFF-8431.

How does the FTLX1475D3BCV relate to the FTLX1471D3BCV?

Same optical specs, same vendor-coded EEPROM approach. The difference is the module body: FTLX1475D3BCV has a pull-tab latch for high-density chassis, while the FTLX1471D3BCV uses a standard bail latch.
