EdgeOptic's FTLX1671D3BCL compatible is a Finisar-coded 10GBASE-ER version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-40 multi-vendor 10GBASE-ER SFP+ transceiver. One universal 10G-SFP-40 design is programmed for multiple vendor codes, and this build carries Finisar-recognized EEPROM coding so the host reads it as the original part. It matches the original module's optical and electrical specifications and drops into the same single-mode fiber links without configuration changes.
The module runs at 1550 nm over duplex single-mode fiber and reaches 40 km. It has a 15 dB link budget, with transmit power held between −1 and +4 dBm and receiver sensitivity of −16 dBm. Receiver overload is 0 dBm, so a short loopback or a span shorter than the design distance will not saturate the receiver. Chromatic dispersion tolerance covers the 800 to 1000 ps/nm range expected on a 40 km extended-reach span. The duplex LC/UPC connector pair mates with standard SMF patch cords.
Digital optical monitoring reports module temperature, supply voltage, laser bias current, transmit optical power, and receive optical power in real time through the standard two-wire serial interface. Operations teams use those readings for link commissioning and fault isolation, confirming optical margin at turn-up and narrowing down a degraded span without pulling the module.
