FN-TRAN-SFP+LR Fortinet Compatible 10GBASE-LR SFP+ Module

EdgeOptic's FN-TRAN-SFP+LR compatible is a Fortinet-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 multi-vendor 10GBASE-LR transceiver. FN-TRAN-SFP+LR is Fortinet's current part number for a 10GBASE-LR SFP+ optic per IEEE 802.3ae Clause 52, transmitting at 1310 nm over duplex single-mode fiber with double LC/UPC connectors and reaching up to 10 km. The EEPROM is coded with Fortinet-recognized vendor identification for native recognition on FortiGate and FortiSwitch platforms with SFP+ ports.

Optical specifications: 1310 nm DFB laser with a PIN photodiode receiver, operating wavelength range 1260 to 1360 nm, 6 dB link budget. Transmit power runs from −8.2 dBm minimum to 0.5 dBm maximum. Receiver sensitivity is −14.5 dBm with a receiver overload of 0 dBm. The module is multi-rate, carrying 10 Gigabit Ethernet at 10.31 Gbps, Gigabit Ethernet at 1.25 Gbps, and STM-64 at 9.95 Gbps. It runs from a 3.3 V host supply across the 0 to 70 °C commercial temperature range and is hot-pluggable. This module covers the standard commercial temperature range; deployments that require industrial-temperature operation should verify the appropriate variant against the Fortinet transceiver guide.

Digital diagnostics monitoring per SFF-8472 reports transmit and receive optical power, temperature, supply voltage, and laser bias current. FortiOS provides transceiver status diagnostics; verify the specific commands against your FortiOS version documentation. The module requires 9/125 um single-mode fiber, OS1 or OS2; multimode fiber is not compatible with this transceiver.
