Hirschmann compatible M-SFP-SX/LC Description

EdgeOptic's M-SFP-SX/LC compatible is a Hirschmann-coded version of the EdgeOptic 1.25G-SFP-550D multi-vendor 1000BASE-SX transceiver. It runs Gigabit Ethernet at 1.25 Gbps (IEEE 802.3z) and 1G Fibre Channel SW at 1.0625 Gbps over duplex multimode fiber, using an 850 nm VCSEL transmitter and a PIN photodiode receiver.

A 7.5 dB optical budget carries the link 550 m over OM2 multimode fiber (50/125) and 275 m over OM1 (62.5/125). The module uses a duplex LC/UPC interface and supports DDM/DOM diagnostics for optical power, bias current, and transceiver temperature. It operates over the 0 to 70°C standard temperature range on a +3.3V supply, built to the INF-8074i SFP MSA, with CE/RoHS and Class 1 laser safety.

M-SFP-SX/LC (part number 943014001) is Hirschmann's ordering code for this gigabit multimode SFP. EdgeOptic codes the EEPROM with Hirschmann-recognized data so the module is accepted on Hirschmann switches; verify SFP support for the specific switch in its own manual or in the Hirschmann accessories documentation. Hirschmann publishes the same optical figures for the part: 850 nm, 0 to 550 m on 50/125 fiber, 0 to 275 m on 62.5/125, and a 0 to 7.5 dB link budget at 850 nm. On temperature, the EdgeOptic module's 0 to 70°C standard range meets and exceeds the 0 to +60°C operating range Hirschmann publishes for the M-SFP-SX/LC.

Backed by 15+ years of EdgeOptic compatibility engineering across vendor optical platforms. Ships next business day from EU stock with a lifetime warranty. For ordering-code confirmation or platform questions, contact our sales team.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Hirschmann M-SFP-SX/LC differ from the M-SFP-SX/LC EEC?

Optically the two Hirschmann parts are the same: 850 nm multimode, duplex LC, a 0 to 7.5 dB link budget, 550 m on 50/125 fiber and 275 m on 62.5/125. They differ in temperature grade. Hirschmann rates the base M-SFP-SX/LC (part number 943014001) at 0 to +60°C operating, while the M-SFP-SX/LC EEC (part number 943896001) is its separate extended temperature range version with its own ordering code. This page covers the base M-SFP-SX/LC. The EdgeOptic compatible carries the 0 to 70°C standard temperature range and is not an extended-temperature module, so for unheated cabinets or outdoor enclosures order the EEC equivalent instead, or contact our sales team.
