HP compatible AJ907A Description
The EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 is a compatible replacement for the HPE AJ907A (MDS 9000 8Gb FC Long Wave SFP+). It provides Fibre Channel connectivity over single-mode fiber at 1310nm, reaching up to 10km with a duplex LC connector. This is an 8GFC module for Cisco MDS SAN switches.
The transceiver supports Fibre Channel rates of 1.0625 Gbps (1GFC), 2.125 Gbps (2GFC), 4.25 Gbps (4GFC), and 8.5 Gbps (8GFC). It uses a 1310nm DFB laser transmitter paired with an APD receiver over standard G.652 single-mode fiber.
The AJ907A is an HPE-sourced OEM optic qualified for use in Cisco MDS 9000 series SAN switches. The MDS 9000 is a Cisco platform; the AJ907A is HPE's part number for the FC LW module used in these switches.
HPE sells SAN switches under two families. The AJ907A is for C-series (Cisco MDS platform). The AJ717A is for B-series (Brocade platform). Both are 8GFC LW 1310nm 10km modules with the same optical spec, but carry different EEPROM coding for their respective switch families.
Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) is supported per SFF-8472. The module reports TX/RX optical power, temperature, laser bias current, and supply voltage in real time. It is MSA-compliant per SFF-8431 and SFF-8432, CE/RoHS certified, and operates in commercial temperature range (0 to 70C).
