Huawei compatible QSFP-40G-LR4 Description
EdgeOptic's QSFP-40G-LR4 compatible is a Huawei-coded version of the EdgeOptic 40G-QSFP-10 multi-vendor 40GBASE-LR4 transceiver. It carries Huawei ordering code 02310MHS and programs with EEPROM the Huawei switch reads as its own, so a CloudEngine port brings the link up without a vendor-lockout warning.
The module runs 40 Gigabit Ethernet (41.25 Gbps) over four CWDM lanes at 1271, 1291, 1311 and 1331 nm, multiplexed onto a single-mode duplex LC pair for 10 km of reach. A DFB laser drives each lane at −6 to +3 dBm, and the PIN receiver holds a per-lane sensitivity of −12.6 dBm with a +3 dBm overload point. That gives a 6.6 dB optical link budget, enough headroom for a full 10 km span on G.652 fiber. The transceiver complies with IEEE 802.3ba Clause 87 and the QSFP+ MSA (SFF-8436, INF-8438i), and reports temperature, voltage, bias and optical power through DOM.
Huawei lists 02310MHS for the CloudEngine 8800, 7800, 6800 and 5800 Series switches, and it also appears in the S6700 Series documentation. These are datacenter and campus Ethernet platforms, so the module operates in 40GbE mode only. Huawei publishes other 40G LR4 part numbers for transport and router platforms, and those carry different ordering codes and EEPROM. Confirm the exact part number against the Huawei transceiver compatibility table for your switch and software version before ordering replacements.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Huawei QSFP-40G-LR4 (02310MHS) the same as the QSFP-40G-LR4-Lite?
No. 02310MHS is the full 40GBASE-LR4 module rated for 10 km with a 6.6 dB optical budget. Huawei also sells a separate LR4 Lite part with a shorter reach and a different ordering code. The two are not interchangeable for a full 10 km span. Verify the part number against the Huawei CloudEngine transceiver compatibility table for your switch version before ordering.
Which Huawei switches support the QSFP-40G-LR4 (02310MHS)?
Huawei documents 02310MHS for the CloudEngine 8800, 7800, 6800 and 5800 Series switches, and it is also listed for the S6700 Series. Other Huawei platforms use different 40G LR4 part numbers, so check the transceiver table for your specific model and software release before deploying.
