Huawei compatible QSFP28-100G-LR-BXU1 Description

EdgeOptic's QSFP28-100G-LR-BXU1 compatible is a Huawei-coded version of the EdgeOptic BIDI-100G-Q28-SL10A multi-vendor 100G BiDi QSFP28 transceiver. It uses a single LC/UPC connector over a single strand of single-mode fiber, with a maximum reach of 10 km and an average link budget of 6.1 dB.

The module transmits at 1271 nm and receives at 1331 nm, carrying 100G Ethernet PAM4 at 106.25 Gbps. It uses an EML laser transmitter and a PIN photodiode receiver, with FEC integrated in the DSP and full DDM support for real-time optical monitoring.

BiDi modules work in matched pairs on a single fiber strand. QSFP28-100G-LR-BXU1 (P/N 02315GHX) transmits at 1271 nm and receives at 1331 nm; the opposite end needs the mirrored QSFP28-100G-LR-BXD1 (P/N 02315GHY), which transmits at 1331 nm and receives at 1271 nm. Don't install two BXU1 modules on the same strand; the wavelengths won't align and the link won't come up.

The optical port type for this module is 100G-BIDI-LR, supported on the CloudEngine XH9000 and XH8000 series, and the CloudEngine 9800, 8800 and 6800 series running V300R020C00 or later, with cross-listings in the CloudEngine S16700, S5700, S6700 and S200-S600 series module catalogs. Confirm exact chassis and firmware support against Huawei's Info-Finder before ordering.

The transceiver operates across a standard 0 to 70 degrees C case temperature range, runs from a single +3.3V supply, and draws up to 4.5W.

It complies with IEEE 802.3cd, the CAUI-4 electrical interface and the SFF-8679 mechanical specification, and carries CE and RoHS marks.

Backed by 15+ years of EdgeOptic compatibility engineering across vendor optical platforms, this compatible ships with a lifetime warranty. For project-quantity pricing or alternative vendor coding, contact our sales team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Huawei CloudEngine switches support the QSFP28-100G-LR-BXU1 (02315GHX)?

The QSFP28-100G-LR-BXU1 (Huawei part number 02315GHX) is supported on the CloudEngine XH9000 and XH8000 series, and on the CloudEngine 9800, 8800 and 6800 series running V300R020C00 or later. Check the exact chassis and firmware combination against Huawei's Info-Finder or the applicable series hardware description before ordering, since supported optics can vary by line card and firmware release.

What is the difference between QSFP28-100G-LR-BXU1 and QSFP28-100G-LR-BXD1?

Both are part of the same 100G-BIDI-LR family built for a 10 km single-mode link over a single fiber strand. QSFP28-100G-LR-BXU1 (Huawei part number 02315GHX) transmits at 1271 nm and receives at 1331 nm. QSFP28-100G-LR-BXD1 (Huawei part number 02315GHY) transmits at 1331 nm and receives at 1271 nm. The two must be paired one on each end of the fiber; installing the same side on both ends leaves the wavelengths mismatched and the link down.

Is QSFP28-100G-LR-BXU1 the same as a 100GBASE-BX10-U module?

Huawei's own designation for this optical port type is 100G-BIDI-LR. "100GBASE-BX10-U" is a naming convention used by some third-party compatible-optics vendors for the same class of part; it is not an IEEE 100G PMD name and not Huawei's own designation. Match the part number and wavelength plan, 1271 nm TX and 1331 nm RX for BXU1, rather than relying on third-party naming when ordering.
