Huawei compatible SFP-FC8G-LW Description
EdgeOptic's SFP-FC8G-LW compatible is a Huawei-coded, Fibre-Channel-ready version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 multi-vendor 10GBASE-LR transceiver. SFP-FC8G-LW is Huawei's ordering code for an 8G Fibre Channel longwave SFP+ at 1310 nm single-mode. The EdgeOptic module meets the SFP+ MSA (SFF-8431, SFF-8432). EdgeOptic programs the EEPROM for Huawei host recognition, so the module reports correctly on Huawei platforms that list SFP-FC8G-LW in their hardware compatibility documentation.
The module transmits at 1310 nm over duplex single-mode fiber with an LC connector, reaching 10 km at a 6 dB link budget. A DFB laser holds launch power between −8.2 and 0.5 dBm, and the PIN photodiode receiver is rated at −14.5 dBm sensitivity with 0 dBm overload. DOM per SFF-8472 reports TX and RX power, temperature, supply voltage, and laser bias current in real time.
The module supports 2, 4 and 8G Fibre Channel over 1310 nm single-mode fiber to 10 km. The EdgeOptic module also covers 1 and 10G Fibre Channel, 10G Ethernet (10.31 Gbps), Gigabit Ethernet, and STM-64 (9.95 Gbps), with the active rate set by the host port.
