IBM compatible 00D6183 Description

EdgeOptic's 00D6183 compatible is an IBM-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 multi-vendor 8G Fibre Channel SFP+ transceiver. It uses a 1310nm DFB laser and PIN photodiode receiver over duplex LC single-mode fiber, rated for 10km reach with a 6 dB link budget. Digital diagnostics monitoring reports transmit power, receive power, temperature and supply voltage in real time. The underlying multi-rate optical engine also negotiates 4G and 2G Fibre Channel for backward compatibility with older fabric switches.

Transmit power ranges from −8.2 to 0.5 dBm, with receive sensitivity better than −14.5 dBm and 0 dBm receive overload, per the SFP MSA and SFF-8431 electrical and optical interface. Chromatic dispersion tolerance is rated 70 to 100 ps/nm, and the module runs from a single 3.3V supply across a standard 0°C to 70°C temperature range. The transmitter operates within a 100nm wavelength window centered at 1310nm (1260 to 1360nm).

IBM-recognized EEPROM is coded to present IBM-compatible identification data to IBM host equipment in Fibre Channel SAN environments. The module meets SFP MSA and SFF-8431 mechanical and electrical specifications, and carries CE marking, Class 1 laser safety under FDA regulations and IEC 60825-1, plus RoHS certification.
