IBM compatible 45W1216 Description
45W1216 is IBM's FRU part number for an 8Gb Fibre Channel long-wavelength SFP+ used in the SAN24B-4 (2498-B24) and SAN40B-4 storage area network switches. EdgeOptic's compatible replacement is built on our 10G-SFP-10 platform, a dual-rate FC module supporting 4.25 Gbps (4GFC) and 8.5 Gbps (8GFC) over single-mode fiber at 1310 nm with 10 km reach.
The SAN24B-4 and SAN40B-4 are Brocade-OEM switches rebranded for IBM System Storage. They run Fabric OS and use standard SFP+ cages for 8Gb FC ports.
